“Good
Afternoon Dave! I wanted to take a
moment and write to you to say thanks.
Asbury and I attended a wedding a couple of weekends ago and realized
that not every photographer cares about what they do. After the wedding, I approached the
photographer and asked permission to take a couple of shots after he was done
and not using a flash. He, of course,
said sure and thanked me for asking. Dave,
he took all of maybe 4 pictures of the wedding party. He asked the bride, after those 4 pictures,
if she wanted any other shots taken. She
couldn’t think of any, so he was done.
She was on her way to the reception which was at the church fellowship
hall. The groom pulled me aside and
asked me if I wouldn’t mind taking a couple of shots for him. I, of course,
said YES! I followed them to the
reception hall and took a couple of “cute” shots of her waiting and having her
train bustled. Things like that. I remembered how much time you took on the
little things, like table arrangements and things like that. I tried to do the same. Then, about half way through the reception,
the photographer approached the bride and said he was leaving, but if they
wanted him to stay he would, for more money.
I understand that his contract probably said the same, but this was
hurtful to the couple. So again, they
asked me to help. I took pictures of the
bouquet toss, the garter toss, and the getaway.
Dave, I just wanted to say thank you.
Thank you for not making that day any more stressful! Thank you for thinking ahead and taking
charge. Thank you for taking the
pictures I didn’t even know that I wanted.
